How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
In the media industry artists would have a similar style and link in all three medias i.e DigiPack, music video and advertisement. This increases economic success as they are more likely to be recognised by their target audience. This theory is called 'Cross-media advertising' I researched this earlier in my blog and found it was very beneficial for examining the effectiveness of my music video, advertisement and DigiPack, for example we created a surreal style in all three products so our band 'Poppy and the Jezebels' would be recognizable. Fonts are a effective example in the media industry to combine all three medias . They are a great influence on audiences opinions and can also help the audience identify with other media products formed by the same band, this makes each band have their own individual and persuasive font. The image below of the festival portrays each bands unique font i.e 'Supergrass' is large, green and bold whereas 'The Hives' uses an animated image of a hand for the letter 'V' here you can see the difference of each.

I researched lots of fonts in order to chose a persuasive 'indie' font which appeals to students and can be used as our trademark in all three products, I discussed my most effective fonts with my group here are my favourite three initial fonts.
1.

2.

3.

I then found the font 'Perpetua Titling MT' featured on Photoshop, this was similar to the one a originally liked above but was slightly smaller and thinner which would make our DigiPack clearer, I think this font is very effective as it supports our surreal theme whilst engaging our audience subtly. We used this font throughout our product i.e. for the title of the music video, the typography in the Digipack and advertisement, making our band incredible identifiable.
The combination of my main product and ancillary text is also effective through the use of the rabbit mask, this is our central image as it is a frequent theme used in each media product I created. This is successful as our target audience would not only be persuaded by the abstract rabbit mask but also recognise it's trademark in each product identifying the band. You can see how I used the rabbit mask in each product below:

Finally I combined the idea of presenting a 'natural' angelic 'earthy' setting in all three products. For the DigiPack we followed inspiration from 'The Auteurs' album cover and then developed the grass darker also featured in our advertisement, thus supporting the landscape setting. For our music video we were set in a wood so our whole video was focused around a 'earthy' setting, evidence of this is below:

Also the white colour scheme used in all three products reinforces my cross media advertising used throughout.
