CD tray drafts:
I designed several CD tray stencils so I could see which one was most effective for our 'indie' genre of music/students target audience.I designed these on Microsoft Word as this is a professional software which achieved a template of a professional CD tray.

In my opinion the first draft is the most effective as the 'grassy' background supports my theme throughout and amplifies the CD tray, also by creating the outline of the CD white this would reflect our white and green colour scheme.
Inside drafts:
I designed some drafts so I could organise my ideas and decide which one I thought would be most effective as a final product. I designed my drafts on Microsoft Word as this was easier and clearer to understand rather than hand drawn drafts.

I think the second draft is most successful for our final product, as it includes everything you would need i.e. lyrics, image, DigiPack title, artist title. The layout isn't crowded and you can see everything, I also think having the lyrics for 'UFO' not dominating the inside is more effective than just having this inside. This design also supports are target audience as through my research most 'indie' DigiPacks contain lyrics. My least favourite draft is the first one as I think it achieves too much space although I like the layout of 'UFO' being vertical as this is inventive.
Back cover drafts:
I designed some stencils for the back of our DigiPack, here are my examples I produced on Microsoft Word, the most effective design is the last one in my opinion because it's clear but persuasive, using credits/descriptions on our back cover supports our target audience (students) as they would want information on the artist as well.

Here is another example of a member of my group (Kiera's) back cover DigiPack drafts. This was beneficial as I could see her ideas and as a group we could decide which design supported our target audience- people who listen to indie/pop music and are most likely students.
Here is Kiera's design below:

As you can see we both value having credits on the back of our DigiPacks, I feel her first design is more effective as it involves the name of the Band and song title and credits in a unique layout, I feel the design is clearer than her second one and would persuade our target audience more as students wouldn't want to be overloaded with information where the second one has more credits.
